What to Wear Postpartum

Ahhh the dreaded "WTF do I wear after giving birth?" scenario. I don't know about you guys, but I don't have many options. Everything seems insanely short and tight in my closet so I needed a couple longer items to get me back on track. These pieces from Shop Pink Blush are perfect for that!

I loved my delivery/nursing robe from Shop Pink Blush so I knew I would like other pieces. Since I am constantly pumping and nursing (my body definitely knows it had twins!), loose and comfy shirts are perfect for me. I never got into nursing tops that have the hooks - I would rather just lift and do my business. :)

I absolutely adore this grey dress (with pockets that fit my giant iPhone!) so much. They call it a sweater dress but it isn't sweater material - perfect lightweight spring material. It would be so cute with booties and bare legs for a normal height person, but since I am 5'11" I wear it with leggings like a tunic. :)

I love how they sell their pieces for maternity or regular life - it's all the same. Then you don't have to worry about not getting enough use out of a piece when you aren't pregnant anymore!

I also wore it for newborn pics! Here are a few and will share more adorable ones of the girls later. These pics were taken by the amazing Lindsey Koch Photography.

If you know me, you also know that one of my biggest wardrobe staples is a great raglan style top. I just love them! This amazing Shop Pink Blush top combines stripes and florals, two of my other favorite things as well!

I had to wear it while 36 weeks pregs with the twins. I love how the material didn't create a giant tent-like look with my belly - Sprinkles agreed. :)

This is the perfect top to throw on and go, especially since I need pieces like that now that I have three kids!

Also perfect for chasing frogs with a twin in your arms. ;)

Like always, I have my eye on a few other pieces.

1. This cardigan would be on repeat in my wardrobe daily.

2. Dying to try some overalls!

3. Loving this striped dress.

4. Can't go wrong with a classic kimono.

What are your staples to wear in the postpartum period?

Twin Bump Progress

I was so good at keeping up with my bump pics for Bradley but when you already have a toddler it makes it much more difficult to do! Carmen and Jolie were born at 36 weeks and 6 days so we didn't make it to our 38 week goal but we were dang close. :)

Got our act together around 26 weeks to start the pics!

Dropped the ball on weeks 27 and 28 but I do have these shots from those weeks.

28 weeks - before van shopping! :)

I'm calling this my 31 weeks picture because the ones I took in the nursery were so dark they didn't turn out. I also like to call this "sausaged fruit salad". :)

Last bump shot at 36 weeks 5 days for Nate's birthday!

And on their scheduled induction date at 9 days old! :)

Carmen and Jolie Are Here!

Our girls are here! Carmen Betty and Jolie Susan were born on Saturday, May 13 at 3:26 (Carmen) and 3:35pm (Jolie). Carmen weighed 7 lbs 13 oz and 20.5" and Jolie was 7 lbs 1 oz and 20". They are the absolute sweetest and our family is now complete!

Twins (at least in our hospital) are delivered in the OR for more space and also in case there needs to be an emergency C section but we were so fortunate that they both came right out on their own and that wasn't needed! Will post more of a birth story soon.

I've been baby spamming on Instagram but here is more - never enough baby pics! :)

Always referred to as Baby A (Carmen) and Baby B (Jolie) in the hospital. :)

Skin to skin with Dada.

Seriously - they are soooo snuggly. They are super content (hope it continues!) being held and loved on. And eating of course.

Eating dinner and in disbelief of my view - we have twins! And three kids!

Wearing their first clothes (from my friend Rosie who also has twins!) for a car seat check at the hospital.

Loved getting pics from my parents who were watching Bradley at our house. He couldn't come to the hospital because of the measles outbreak in Minnesota (no kids under 5 allowed) so I was insanely sad to not see him for 3-4 days! I have never had a night away from him before this so these pictures helped.

In their sweet outfits to head home!

Bradley finally meeting his sisters! He was frozen for a second. :)

Then was super curious!

Funny video on Instagram of him rocking them - we need to practice being gentle. :)

Super Grandma! She has been making sure we are all getting fed and enough rest and keeping Bradley busy. Couldn't do it without her!!

Love this pic of Bradley with Jolie.

I cannot wait to watch their relationship as they grow!

We don't have a ton of matching outfits because I buy mostly used items at Once Upon a Child (matching ones are usually gifts from sweet friends!) but I try to coordinate. :) Carmen is wearing Bradley's crab jammies so Jolie had to wear some crabs, too!

Sweet baby face! (Jolie)

The girls had their first doctor's appointment with one of our favorite people - their pediatrician!

Cute matching outfits (again from my friend Rosie!) for their big morning out to the doc. :)

Such a sweet Daddy (with Carmen)!

This corner of the nursery is already getting lots of good use!

Beyond cozy! Could sit here all day!

Sweet baby toes.

Thank you so much for all the sweet texts, calls, comments, visits, gifts, etc! It means the world to us how much of a support system we have! I can't wait to get caught up with everyone as we figure out our new (amazing) normal.
