It's Porch Season!

We were so excited to wake up today to 70 degree weather on Saturday!  Friday night we got all of our patio furniture out of the garage so we were able to relax outside a lot of the day yesterday.

We knew we wanted to get a red umbrella this year, so we went to World Market and picked up that and a few things to spruce up the porch for the Spring/Summer!

Love how much color there is on the porch now!

Nate didn't like me taking pics of him.

Sprinks didn't mind! :)

Our porch looks pretty (other than the dead plants) but our yard is another story.  When the snow melted we realized we had a vole infestation throughout the winter!  Ugh!  So our lawn is destroyed.  Looks like we will get to work on that the next few weekends...anyone else discover that this year?

Happy Sunday!

Week In Pictures

Recent happenings through the eyes of my phone camera.

Finished my first of two patriotic wreaths!

Chim turned 3!

Snow...again.

So I made Joni's yummy chili!

New flat iron is blowing my mind.  Will be great since I am about to chop my hair!

Again, a shameful selfie, but my hair has never been this straight before this flat iron!

Cheering on friends at tryouts!

Somebody got a beard trim!

Brought in donuts for coworkers - I am going to turn into a donut if I keep eating these things!

We hit 70 on Friday!  Chimi stayed in the shade though.

Then we grilled and took out our furniture!

We have already had an awesome start to the weekend!  Had a great meeting with Deborah from The Cozy Cottage to help us blend our ideas for the main floor. Can't wait to get going!

Fashion Friday!

What a busy week!  I feel like I haven't had a chance to do anything, let alone blog.  I am looking forward to a nice relaxing weekend, and catching up on everyday tasks (like laundry, grocery shopping, showering...).

I am an absolute layer lover, as I am sure is evident in other posts.  Whatever shirt, blouse, or tank I have on I almost always have a blazer or cardigan on or nearby.  Lindsey was helping me style outfits at our last FF shoot and she picked this shirt to wear, and I instantly grabbed a blazer to wear over.  I have never paired them together before but think it turned out cute and will be wearing this now!

Like all fashion rules, I think brown can go with anything.  Grey, black, whatever!  You name the fashion rule and I will break it and not care.  Life is too short!

Blouse: Francesca's, Blazer: LOFT, Jeans: J Brand, Necklace: ILY Couture, Flats: Steve Madden.

Chimi wanted to hop in for some pics!

Have a great weekend!

Week In Pictures

Recent happenings through the eyes of my phone camera.

Came to work on Monday and had MORE birthday surprises from another coworker!

Where Chim watches me cook dinner.

Was so excited about this fortune until I ripped it!  Still counts, right?

Quality dinner last Sunday night - pizza and brownies.  #wifeoftheyear

Never gets old - Sprinkles on her cupcake!

I've had enough of this APRIL weather!

Even with the weather, we drove to Chicago to meet nephew #2!

Of course we had to eat our way around Chicago a little.

And of course on the way home I spilled all over myself.

Hope everyone had a great weekend!

Fashion Friday!

Well, we had a blizzard yesterday.  I realize that I live in Minnesota but this is not normal.  And SUPER putting a kink in my style.  All I want to wear is sweatpants and snow boots when the weather is this crappy.

So since I can't wear outfits like this outside, I will wear them indoors!  I got this shirt at Target a while back and have mostly worn it with jeans, then when I was at Target this past weekend I saw their in-store signage had a model wearing this top with this skirt and it was the cutest thing I have ever seen!  Plus it was on sale.  Paired it with Target flip flops and I am Target from head to toe!  Well, minus the Urban Outfitters necklace.  Even though Lindsey and I shot these in my bedroom, I still felt ready for Spring!  If we dress for Spring will it come?

PS - I haven't discussed my love for MZ Wallace, but this Bea bag is in the pictures below.  I will profess my love at a later date.

Top, Skirt and flip flops: Target, Necklace: Urban Outfitters, Chevron rings: Asos, Purse: MZ Wallace.
